Q6. How come I Have Seen the Exact Same Registration for Sale on Several Different Websites?
As number plate dealers we offer more than just our own stock of registration plates for sale. If Peter Morrison owned the private plate 96 PM
he could ask several companies (including Simply Registrations) to advertise 96 PM for sale on his behalf. This would result in 96 PM being seen on lots of different number plate dealers websites or in their advertisements in the motoring press. As previously mentioned, we work alongside other dealers allowing certain carefully selected companies to publish our stock registrations in their advertisements and on their websites. That explains why you may see the same registration listed on more than one website.
Q7. Why Are the Prices of Certain Personalised Registrations plus V.A.T.?
It depends who actually owns the registration you are referring to. The majority of our company-owned registration numbers are plus v.a.t. because Simply Registrations is a v.a.t. registered business. Personalised registrations that we are offering for sale on behalf of private individuals are generally not subject to v.a.t. If an asterisk symbol appears next to the price on the registration that you are interested in, it indicates that v.a.t is chargeable on top of the advertised price.

There are several official terms used by the DVLA. The combination of letters and numbers is either called a registration, registration mark or vehicle registration number. Q10. I Have been told Buying a Private Number Plate is Complicated
Don't worry about any of the paperwork or the filling in of any of the forms. We will take care of everything on your behalf. Yes some of the forms are a bit daunting if youve not had to complete them before, but that goes for most things. Just leave everything to us, we have performed hundreds of registration transfers and know the process inside out. All you have to do is take your car along to your nearest garage and ask them to fit your shiny new number plates to your car. Once that is done remember to tell your motor insurer that you have a new registration number so they can update your policy documents.
Q11. How Soon Can I Display my New Personalised Registration Plates on My Car?
We used to offer a same-day number plate transfer service but sadly same-day transfers ended when the government closed the entire network of DVLA Local Offices as a cost-saving measure in 2013. All personalised registration transactions are now processed by DVLA in Swansea and typically take two weeks to complete.
